FAQ
What is telehealth therapy like?
Telehealth therapy is a secure, HIPAA-compliant video session, similar to FaceTime or Zoom. You’ll need a stable internet connection and a private space for your sessions.
What happens in my first session?
Your first session is a relaxed conversation where we discuss your concerns, therapy goals, and treatment plan. I’ll answer any questions and ensure we’re the right fit.
Do you prescribe medications?
No, I do not prescribe medication. If needed, I can collaborate with your psychiatrist, primary care physician, or nurse practitioner to support your treatment plan and help you advocate for yourself with your prescribing provider.
What does an LPC do?
An LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) provides mental health therapy to help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, and more. They hold a master’s degree, complete 3,600+ supervised hours, and pass a licensure exam to be able to providfe you this care.
How often are sessions?
Most clients start with weekly 60-minute sessions. As progress is made, we may reduce the frequency based on your needs.
How do I check my insurance coverage?
I am in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS / Carelon, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Before starting therapy, I verify your insurance benefits to confirm your copay and coverage.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is private and confidential. The only time I would have to break confidentiality is if I am concerned about harm to yourself or others, child abuse, or elder abuse.
What if I see you outside of sessions?
To protect your privacy, I won’t acknowledge you first. However, if you say hello, I’m happy to greet you briefly.
